Drozdov, also known as Puke and Droz in the ring, was a renowned in-ring WWE opponent, according to the pro wrestling promotion, who also stated that he was a "gifted athlete" before wrestling. Drozdov played football at the University of Maryland before making brief appearances in the NFL with the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Denver Broncos.

According to a statement from Drozdov's family, he died of natural causes.

Career

Drozdov spent three seasons in the NFL as a noseguard with the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Denver Broncos. During that period, he earned the moniker "Puke" due to his habit of vomiting on the pitch. When he first began his wrestling career, he used that name. He then changed his name to the more socially acceptable "Droz."

He began his career on the independent wrestling circuit before joining the WWF (later the WWE) in 1998.



Drozdov was wrestling D'Lo Brown at a SmackDown taping at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island on October 5, 1999. He crashed on his head during the contest, breaking two neck vertebrae.

He finally regained mobility in his arms and upper torso but spent the remainder of his life in a wheelchair. The game was never shown on television.
