Marina Ovsyannikova, a Russian Journalist, gained international attention for holding a ‘no war poster’ on live TV. Russia has placed Ovsyannikova on a wanted list after she was reportedly released from house arrest.

Ovsyannikova, a Ukrainian-born woman, gained international attention after she rushed into Channel One’s studio to protest the Ukraine war. She was holding a sign that read “no war” and held it. She was then fined 30,000 rubles (£460) for not following protest laws.

No War Poster

After holding up an antiwar sign on a primetime news program of state broadcaster Channel One in March, Ovsyannikova became well-known both in Russia and internationally.

Ovsyannikova protested against the war, and she was later charged with spreading false information about Russia’s army. She held a poster reading “Putin a murderer, his troops are fascists” during a protest at the Kremlin’s Moskva River embankment. To await her trial, she was placed under house arrest and could face up to 10 years imprisonment.

Russia Put Her on Wanted List

Russian authorities placed Marina Ovsyannikova on Monday, the ex-state TV journalist who decried the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine, on the federal wanted lists.

In August, she was arrested for spreading false information about the Russian Armed Forces. She held a sign that read: “How many children must die in Ukraine before you stop?” Near the Kremlin.
