A Girl Arrested After Being Filmed Allegedly Throwing A Cat Out The Car Window

After being seen on camera reportedly throwing a cat out the window of a moving car and down a bridge, a 15-year-old girl has been charged with animal cruelty.

The Queensland adolescent was seen on camera at around 3 a.m. on Saturday driving down the Pacific Motorway in Beenleigh, south of Brisbane.

The cat is shown sitting on the adolescent girl's lap in the social media video, which 7NEWS was able to get before the girl snatches it up and throws it out the car window.

The disturbing video depicts the cat climbing over the concrete barrier of the motorway and onto the heavy traffic below.

Following a police inquiry, the teenager was detained at a Gold Coast residence on Monday.

The 15-year-old was accused by police of animal cruelty and jeopardizing the safe operation of a vehicle by hurling an item.

She will subsequently appear before the Southport Children's Court.

RACQ Queensland, an association dedicated to animal protection, denounced the girl's alleged misdeeds.

The RACQ said, "We condemn this blatant animal cruelty."

They display little empathy and complete disdain for human life. It's an evil deed.

We don't know the conclusion of the incident or the misery the cat underwent, which is terrible.
